Champlain Area Trails Hosts Special Event for Emerging Adirondack Leaders

Champlain Area Trails (CATS) is excited to announce a special outdoor event for emerging and young Adirondack leaders. The event, which will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on August 2nd in Westport, NY, will feature a guided hike at the DaCy Meadow Farm Trail, complimentary snacks and drinks, and networking opportunities. Young professionals, food and agricultural entrepreneurs, community leaders in the North Country, and their families are invited to attend this exciting event.

CATS is an accredited land trust founded in 2009 with a mission to make trails, protect land, connect people with nature, and promote economic vitality in the Champlain Valley. To date, CATS has constructed 78 miles of trails, protected 983 acres of land, and hosted hundreds of educational events and volunteer activities, attracting thousands of visitors to experience the natural beauty of the Adirondack’s Champlain Valley.

The DaCy Meadow Farm Trail is a 3-mile loop trail rated easy to moderate, suitable for families with children. It winds through open meadows, fields, and a working farm with beautiful pastoral views of the Champlain Valley foothills, the Hoisington Brook, and a farm stand at the trailhead that sells maple syrup and amazing quiches. Attendees will also have the option to visit the Creative Kitchen Garden to pick fresh vegetables and flowers for a $25 donation.

"We hope this event will inspire more young people and families to get outside, connect with nature, and join us in our mission to protect this special place," said Amber Adamson, Development and Communications Director at CATS.

Space is limited for this free event, so attendees are encouraged to register in advance through CATS' website at champlainareatrails.com. Take advantage of this opportunity to connect with other emerging leaders in the Adirondacks and learn about CATS' work and impact.
