CATSWomen @ Split Rock Mountain Wild Forest

Join us for a CATSWomen hike of Split Rock Mountain Wild Forest North Loop on Wednesday, May 31st, at 10 am.

CATSWomen is a volunteer-led hiking group. This group of women - of all ages and abilities! - creates a safe and encouraging space for female hikers to become more confident in their outdoor adventuring.

Join us and embark on an adventure through Lake Champlain's vast, untouched terrain on a 6.1-mile loop trail near Westport, New York. With a moderate level of challenge, this route typically takes around 2 hours and 54 minutes to complete. Follow the North Loop to reach the pinnacle of Split Rock Mountain, tracing the path of an old logging road. Along the way, take a brief detour onto a quarter-mile side trail leading to the Ore Bed Lookout, where you'll be treated to stunning views of the Adirondacks to the West. Continue on the trail, skirting the peak before gradually descending towards the Essex Lookout.
