Enjoy this .5-mile loop trail near Witherbee, New York. Generally considered an easy route, we will walk the loop over 4 hours as we lop and clean up the trail along the way. The woods here are a mix of white pines and hardwoods which need some TLC of trimming back. This short little hike is a great walk through the woods.
WHAT TO BRING: We will work with loppers, hand saws, and string trimmers, which Champlain Area Trails can provide. Feel free to bring your tools as well. Make sure to bring gloves, protective eye gear (if using a string trimmer), water, and some snacks! Dress in good layers for winter hiking.
DIRECTIONS: Find this trailhead on County 6, Tracy Road, just 1/8 mile west of the center of Witherbee. There is parking on the road adjacent to the spring, where the trailhead is located. Click here for Google Maps directions.
REGISTRATION: Please register by 6:00 p.m. the day before the event by emailing tony@
