Come learn about night vision, and listen for and hopefully hear some owl hoots. Gregg is a great owl hooter, so at least you will hear him. We’ll go onto the Black Kettle Trail for this approximately 60-minute walk. After the hike come over to the bonfire to roast some marshmallows. This night hike is recommended for families with children ages 8 and up. ‘Listening ears’ are required. Click here for a digital and printable map.
DIRECTIONS: Black Kettle Farm is located at the intersection of Cook Rd. and Leaning Rd. in Essex. From Whallonsburg, go west on Cook Rd. (across from the Grange) and go 1.75 miles. Just before Leaning Rd, you’ll see the Black Kettle Farm’s barn on your left. Park there or on Leaning Rd. Click here for Google Maps directions.
REGISTRATION: Spacing is limited! Click here to register.
WHAT TO BRING: Dress in warm layers with gloves and hats. November nights get cold! You will also need good boots for walking in the woods.
