Second Saturday Volunteer Project @ Essex Quarry Nature Preserve

CHAMPLAIN AREA TRAILS has A second saturday Volunteer project at Essex quarry nature preserve ON Saturday, september 14th AT 9 AM.

Join Champlain Area Trails in working on the trails at Essex Quarry Nature Preserve in Essex, New York. We will walk around a mile clearing the trails in preparation for the Skybean Sculptures opening. There is a variety of trail work for this project, including pulling invasive plants, lopping and clearing up the trail, and some handsawing.  

WHAT TO BRING: We will work with loppers, hand saws, and string trimmers, which Champlain Area Trails can provide. Feel free to bring your tools as well. Make sure to bring gloves, protective eye gear (if using a string trimmer), water, and some snacks!

DIRECTIONS:  Essex Quarry Nature Preserve is 1/2 mile south of the blinking light in Essex. There is limited parking. If the lot is full, please park at the Essex Ferry Parking. This also makes it easier to swing by and grab ice cream after trail work! Click here for Google Maps directions.

REGISTRATION: Please register by 6:00 p.m. the day before the event by emailing tony@champlainareatrails.com, but it's also okay to meet us there on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
