CATSWomen @ Hurricane Mountain

CATSWOMEN HIKE OF hurricane mountain ON thursday, august 15th, AT 10:00 AM.

CATSWomen is a volunteer-led group that offers a welcoming environment for women of all ages and abilities to gain confidence in the outdoors through Champlain Area Trails.

Check out this 7-mile out-and-back trail near Elizabethtown, New York. This is one of the better non-4,000-foot peaks in the area. It has a completely bald summit with 360 degree views as well as a very cool firetower on top. The start is surprisingly not too rocky and has newer trail work for the area. You will cross bridges and pass by beaver dams before ascending to a stunning summit. This is a moderately challenging hike with about 2,000 feet of elevation gain.

TIME: Meet at the trailhead at 10:00 am for a 10:15 am start. This hike should take about 4.5 hours.

WHAT TO BRING: Dress in good wicking layers for hiking in the summer. Remember to bring snacks and water!
