Second Saturday Trail Volunteering @ Essex Gateway Trail

CHAMPLAIN AREA TRAILS has second saturday trail volunteering on THE essex gateway trail ON saturdAY, JUly 13th AT 9 AM.

Join Champlain Area Trails in working on this 2.3-mile out-and-back trail near Essex, New York. The trail passes through forest, pasture, and open farmland until its terminus at Blockhouse Road. Much of the trail passes through Essex Farm, which is a busy place with cattle, sheep, pigs, and all forms of cultivation. The recent rainstorm damaged the trail, so we will be focusing on cleaning up the debris from the storm. 

WHAT TO BRING: We will work with loppers, hand saws, and string trimmers, which Champlain Area Trails can provide.   Feel free to bring your tools as well.  Make sure to bring gloves, protective eye gear (if using a string trimmer), water, and some snacks!

DIRECTIONS:  From Essex Ferry Parking area, go north on sidewalk along Essex Road 0.2 miles to enter through a fence to forest trail. Click here for Google Map directions.
