CATSWomen is a volunteer-led group that offers a welcoming environment for women of all ages and abilities to gain confidence in the outdoors through Champlain Area Trails.
Check out this 9-mile trail to a stunning summit in the Jay Mountain Wilderness. For fans of open ridge hiking! Summits are a two-fer, with a western and an eastern one. They are joined by an extraordinary "highway in the sky" for abundant views from many angles. This is a challenging hike with 2,588 feet of elevation gain.
TIME: Meet at the trailhead at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start. This hike should take about 6 hours.
WHAT TO BRING: Dress in good wicking layers for hiking in the summer. Remember to bring snacks and water!
