CATSWomen @ Rattlesnake Mountain

JOIN US FOR A CATSWOMEN HIKE OF rattlesnake Mountain ON thursday, August 1st, AT 10 AM.

CATSWomen is a volunteer-led group that offers a welcoming environment for women of all ages and abilities to gain confidence in the outdoors through Champlain Area Trails.

Check out this 3-mile trail to a beautiful summit with views of Lake Champlain. The first part is relatively easy through a private woodlot of majestic white pines and a beautiful hemlock grove. The second part is steeper with most of the elevation gain for the hike in one push. The view that awaits you at the top is well worth the effort: you can see Lake Champlain in its widest part with the Four Brothers Islands which seem to float in the middle. The view of Wilsboro Bay and its sailboats in the dry dock is magnificent. This hike is moderately challenging, with an elevation gain of around 700 feet.

TIME: Meet at the trailhead at 9:45 am. This hike should take about 2.5 hours.

WHAT TO BRING: Dress in good layers for hiking. This trail can get muddy, so good footwear is important. Remember to bring snacks and water!

REGISTER: There is limited spacing! Click here to register for the hike.

DIRECTIONS: The trailhead is off of Route 22 just north of Willsboro. Click here for Google Map directions.
