Come ski with Tony Goodwin, an Adirondack skier, and former Adirondack Trail Improvement Society Executive Director.
The "Old Mountain Road" is one of the oldest historic routes in the Adirondacks that is still in use today. We will ski on this portion of the Jackrabbit trail until the time or conditions require us to turn around. It will be a lovely ski through the woods, and will have snow! This will be about 5 miles roundtrip, depending on the conditions. This outing is recommended for those with some background in cross-country skiing; it is a moderate ski.
WHAT TO BRING: Dress in good winter layers for skiing. We do not provide skis but can recommend places to rent them if needed. Bring your own cup for hot chocolate at the end.
DIRECTIONS: The trailhead is reached by road by turning off NY 73 onto Alstead Hill Road (County Route 40) 0.9 mi up from Keene.
