Second Saturday Trail Volunteering @ Field and Forest Trail

Join CHamplain area trails in our second saturday volunteer trail work on the field and forest trail on Saturday, FEBRUARY 10th at 9 AM

We will continue to work on creating a new trail that will replace the old pasture path damaged by logging on the Field and Forest Trail.

To reach the section where we will be working, we will have to hike for about a mile. During this hike, we will continue to remove tree branches and small trees, work on the path, and put up new trail markers. Since most of the snow should have melted, snowshoes will not be required, but please come prepared for muddy conditions. The trail is surrounded by beautiful hardwood trees and small rocky cliffs inside the forest, making for a picturesque winter morning of trail work.

WHAT TO BRING: We will use loppers and hand saws, which Champlain Area Trails can provide. However, you are free to bring your own tools if you prefer. Please wear appropriate boots, as the ground may be muddy, and don't forget to bring gloves, water, and snacks. We will be finishing up around 1 pm.

DIRECTIONS: We will meet near the trailhead for the Wadhams Overlook Trail at 9 AM. The trailhead is ¼ mile southeast on Rte. 22 from Wadhams toward. Essex. We will meet in the parking area across the street from the trailhead, where there is a park with basketball courts and a playground.  Click here for the Google map directions.

REGISTRATION: Please register by 6:00 p.m. the day before the event by emailing tony@champlainareatrails.com, but it's also okay to meet us there on Saturday at 9 am.
