This 1.6-mile hike is one of our most popular trails. It's an easy yet very rewarding hike that offers stunning views of Lake Champlain, the Champlain Valley, and the Green Mountains of Vermont across the lake. The trail is a relatively easy climb to a fabulous viewpoint that features the Split Rock Wildway wildlife corridor, connecting Lake Champlain to the Adirondack Mountains. During the hike, we'll be removing fallen limbs, fixing trail markers, and using loppers or handsaws as needed. Our work will conclude around 4 pm.
WHAT TO BRING: We will be working with loppers and hand saws, which Champlain Area Trails can provide. Feel free to bring your own tools as well. Make sure to come with appropriate footwear, and be ready with snowshoes. Make sure to bring gloves, water, and some snacks!
DIRECTIONS: We will meet at the trailhead on Brookfield Road. There is a small parking area where we will meet. Click here for Google map directions.
REGISTRATION: Please register by 6:00 p.m. the day before the event by emailing tony@champlainareatrails.com, but it's also okay to meet us there Friday at noon.
