Second Saturday Trail Volunteering @ Twin Valleys

Join CATS in the construction of the Payne Mountain trail, a new path that is being created in Lewis at Twin Valleys,  on Saturday, October 14th at 9 A.M.

This exciting new CATS trail is about a half-mile climb to a spectacular view of the high peaks from an open summit.  The work will involve putting on the finishing touches to a trail that goes through an area that was heavily logged this summer and has sustained some damage.  We want to do our best to mitigate some areas where drainage has been impacted and aesthetics compromised.

We will be lopping, hand sawing, raking, and working with shovels and pick-axes.  Getting to the trail will involve an almost two-mile walk from the Twin Valley Lodge.

DIRECTIONS: We will meet at the Twin Valleys Outdoor Education Center. Click here for the Google map directions to 95 Twin Valley Rd, Westport, NY. We hope to wrap up between 1 and 2 p.m.  Make sure to bring water and some snacks!

REGISTRATION: Please register by 6:00 p.m. the day before the event by emailing tony@champlainareatrails.com, but it's also okay to meet us there on Saturday morning.
