The hike starts at the Whallonsburg Grange Hall in Whallonsburg, NY, and ends at Champlain Area Trails' Twin Valleys Outdoor Education Center in Lewis, NY. Join us after the hike for a celebration with a live band, drinks and food for purchase, and to learn about local organizations. This is a rain, shine, or snow event.
The hike begins in waves at 10 AM. Parking is available at the Essex County Fairgrounds in Westport. A bus will take you to the Whallonsburg Grange Hall for check-in, where you’ll get your t-shirt and printed map. Breakfast items and coffee will be available for purchase.
Our Grand Hike Grand Marshal will welcome you and start the hike at Whallonsburg Grange Hall. Since there is no parking at the starting or finish line, shuttle services and shortcuts will help you customize your hike, with distances from 2 to 16 miles. Four rest stops along the way will offer snacks, water, and restrooms.
Food and Music: After the hike, kick up your heels and listen to 𝓉𝒽𝑒PondeRz perform, and enjoy locally grown food available for purchase from Farmstead Catering. Additionally, coffee and breakfast items can be purchased from River & Rails Market & Deli before you start your hike! Shuttles will take you back to your car at the Essex County Fairgrounds after the celebration.
We’ll reach out with more details and preparation tips as the date gets closer. Be sure to mark your calendar for a great time on May 9th!
