Black Kettle & Beaver Flow Trails
**Due to a blocked culvert at the trailhead, there’s a small stream you’ll cross, so use caution as you do that.**
Description: Get to know this 1.3-mile loop trail near Essex, New York. Generally considered an easy-moderate route, it takes an average of 34 min to complete. The Black Kettle Trail is a fantastic trail that goes through an open, mature forest, passes by a beautiful forest brook, and even has some fantastic views across the valley. The trail is relatively quick and easy and can be a perfect, quick walk, but it can also be used as a connector through to the Beaver Flow and Spirit Sanctuary trails.
Find the south trailhead on Walker Rd 1.25 mi west of Rt 22 in Whallonsburg, and the north trailhead on the south side of Cook Road in Essex, about 100 yds west of Leaning Rd.
