Beaver Bend Preserve
Description: This preserve is small but mighty! Get to know this 0.4-mile loop trail near Essex, New York. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 9 min to complete. Go for a short walk on a trail through a riparian forest. You’ll come along a field along the Boquet River and discover why this preserve is appropriately named “Beaver Bend”! From there, you’ll loop back around and finish the trail. This is an excellent spot for bird-watching.

The CATS Beaver Bend Preserve is located in Essex, NY about 0.8 miles south of Whallonsburg. You will find the trailhead parking area on Angier Hill Road, less than a mile outside the hamlet of Whallonsburg, which is on Rte. 22, between Essex and Westport.
