Cynthia Ford-Johnston was born and raised in Clintonville, NY. Upon graduation from high school, she enrolled in art school, attending the Lake Placid School of Art and Parsons. She received a BS in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz, a Master’s, and CAS from SUNY Plattsburgh in Educational Administration. She has been an art teacher at Carthage Central, Crown Point Central, and Schroon Lake Central schools and served as a Vice-Principal at Schroon Lake CSD and as an Elementary Principal at Northern Adirondack CS and Fonda-Fultonville CSD. Keene Central School brought her back to the Adirondacks. For sixteen years, she worked at Keene as the only administrator responsible as the chief financial officer, K-12 Principal, and Superintendent. Upon retirement, she became the Interim Superintendent on a half-time basis to mentor the new administrator. Those two years were then followed by two years at Westport as the superintendent part-time. Peru CSD then recruited her to be their Superintendent for nine months during their most recent search. She now serves as Interim Superintendent of the Ticonderoga School Central District
