Join Us For A Volunteer Project at The Essex Quarry Nature Preserve

Join us on Wednesday, March 25th, at 9 a.m. for a Volunteer Project at the Essex Quarry Preserve!

Date: March 25th

Time: 9 AM

Location: Essex Quarry Nature Preserve, Essex, New York

Are you looking for an outdoor adventure while giving back to the community? Join Champlain Area Trails for a Volunteer Project at the Essex Quarry Nature Preserve. This is considered an easy trail. Expect to walk up to 2 miles.

As part of this special nature preserve project, we will focus on cleaning up the Essex Quarry after the controlled burning of invasive buckthorn, to spruce up the trail for Spring! This is not only a wonderful opportunity to breathe in the fresh air and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts, but it’s also a chance to play a vital role in preserving our beloved community trail. Together, let’s help maintain the beauty of our trails and foster a healthy, vibrant outdoor space for everyone to enjoy!

WHAT TO BRING:

- Tools: Champlain Area Trails will provide loppers and hand saws but feel free to bring your own tools if you prefer.

- Safety Gear: Bring gloves

- Hydration: Don’t forget to bring water!

- Snacks: Pack some snacks for energy during the hike.
