National Trails Day @ The Whallonsburg Grange

Join us on Saturday, June 1st at the Whallonsburg grange for national trails day.

Join us for this National Trails Day hike in partnership with the Whallonsburg Grange celebrating local artist Ted Cornell.

Come join Champlain Area Trails for a morning hike on a new trail connecting the Art Farm to Whallonsburg. This 4.5-mile hike will lead from the Art Farm Trail to Whallonsburg, through forests, fields, and alongside creeks. We will start 9am at the Whallonsburg Grange and take shuttles to the Art Farm to tour Cornell's sculpture art on the property for the morning hike. People can take later shuttles to tour the farm if they do not want to do the full hike. Afterward, take the shuttle back to enjoy his art exhibit at Whitcomb's Arts. Additionally, you can register to join a hike on our new trail network we are working on. Afterward, everyone will meet at Whitcomb's for lunch from River and Rails Markter & Deli for $15 and a presentation on Ted Cornell's art. This is a moderate-level outing for the hike, and beginner for just touring the Art Farm.

WHAT TO BRING: Bring good shoes for hiking that can get muddy, as it is early June in the Adirondacks. Additionally, bring water and snacks.  

DIRECTIONS: We will meet at the Whallonsburg Grange and take shuttles over to the Art Farm. The parking is at 1610 NY-22, Essex, NY 12936.  Click here for Google Maps directions.
